Roger Light

The Vase OutsideRoger’s current work explores relationships and connections between objects, plants and ecosystems. Some of these relationships are depicted with visual metaphors, such as twine tying objects together or the overlapping of tree branches. All of his work is immersed in light, which also serves to highlight the interplay of subjects and their relationship to each other.

Valerie Light Anderson

Pears In Window LightValerie’s preferred medium is oil on canvas or panel. Her subjects include still-life, interior, landscape, figure and portrait. She is most interested in the pattern of light and dark, and revealing color through light. Valerie chooses subjects that allow her to go beyond a duplication of what the eye sees, to a personal interpretation. The drama, poetry and beauty in the quiet moments of everyday life are her inspiration.

Jay Hussey

SunflowerJay Hussey, a North Texas artist, received his formal fine arts training at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M, Commerce). After college he entered the sign business, mastering skills such as signage design, hand lettering and gilding. After twelve years in the business and with the computerization of the industry in full swing, he decided on a lateral move into the marketing display business. With the help of a talented team of people and some financial backing, he used his knowledge of design and artistic skill to design, render, and fabricate displays in wood, laminates and metals for a broad clientele including homebuilders, developers and property management companies.

Nancy Light Johnson

Nancy’s love for art began long before she began her career in art some forty years ago. She chose to share the joy she found in art as an art educator for twenty of those years, while continuing to work in her own studio throughout that time. Her usual subject matter is still life–plants and flowers for the most part–although she also produces landscapes and portraits at times. Nancy’s recent focus has been on looking closely at everyday scenes — vegetables at a farmer’s market, a bush in the yard, the light playing on one bloom– and giving viewers a heightened awareness of the beauty to be found in the ordinary objects around us.

Will Anderson

Will is a new “working artist”, recently graduated form Kansas City Art Institute. He works in many mediums, but primarily paints in oil. Will’s work originates from reality, a study of what he sees. It then evolves through the application of many layers and glazes. It’s these layers, glazes and drips, which add atmosphere, and express emotion.
