Roger Light Gallery offers a wide variety of artistic services, including commissioned paintings of all types, portraits and murals.

Our gifted and diverse artists have completed mural projects in the Virgin Islands; Channel Islands, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; Albuquerque, New Mexico, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and throughout the state of Texas.

Our projects range from a 40 foot mural in a Roman Catholic Cathedral to a 20 foot tropical mural in a Caribbean luxury rental home, to numerous portraits and commissioned paintings for private residences throughout the United States.

As with all types of commissioned work, happy clients are the result of excellent, clear communication up front. We make sure we get a clear understanding of what you are looking –that is the foundation. Next, we work with you to get the best set of photographs of  the subject.  The best photos accurately represent the true likeness and personality of the individual. Equally important, the best photos have good light and shadows. Overly-lit photos, with lots of even lighting are not so good, because it can be difficult to make out facial features.  A great photo is one that is in sharp focus and is lit from one side, with nicely developed shadows and highlights. It is best if Roger has several photos of the subject, in addition to the one that will be the basis for the portrait.  This allows him to really get to know the subject and feel confident that he is truly capturing them accurately.

Pricing

Portraits by Roger Light typically range from $3,000 to $18,000, depending upon the size and the detail in the background.  However, Roger is currently running a special on portraits.  For a limited time, you can commission a 10X14, head and shoulders portrait in oil for $500.00.  Roger is also offering special prices on larger portraits, which he is negotiating on an individual basis.
